Change for the better..
Change to get better..
But how does that change happen?
It starts from within…..
Watch the video or read blog below to know more about what lasting change entails and become a better version of you…
When you say you want to improve your fitness, it’s a shift that you need from your current state.. It’s a change that you will need in your lifestyle.. And I want to start you on the process.. (Yes it’s a process)
And though I’m using fitness as the subject of change, this process works for any change you wish for yourself.
I ask you a few questions to better understand if you are ready for change. Be honest and reflect on each of these questions because for any change to be effective it has to be genuine…
(1) Are you looking to change?
Most of you may feel you can be better and do better but dig deeper to understand the need to change and be a 100% sure of it. BELIEVE IN IT & WANT IT BADLY!
(2) Are you willing to make this change a top priority?
If it’s not, changes you want to make are not going to last… You have to make it a priority for months or years until it becomes second nature. TOP PRIORITY!
(3) Have you tried to change before?
Yes, you may have tried many times in the past but it may have been short lived. Think of what you can do different this time: LEARN FROM PAST MISTAKES!
Be more realistic: Don’t set very high targets
Try methods that are better suited to you

(4) Do you believe there are risks and dangers associated with not making this change?
With the pandemic going around, I’m sure you know the risks. And you might know that staying fit and healthy reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, feelings of anxiety and depression, certain cancers, obesity, osteoporosis to name a few. KNOW THE RISKS!
(5) Are you committed to make this change, though it may prove challenging?
It’s not enough to wish for change.. You need to be dedicated to follow through… This will require a lot of conscious effort and sacrifice. COMMIT!
(6) Do you have support for making this change from friends, family and loved ones?
Building a supportive environment can make the process easier. So communicate your need to change to the people around you and make them understand how important it is for you. GET SUPPORT!
(7) Besides health reasons, do you have other reasons for wanting to change?
Identify reasons for change that are meaningful to you. Make it specific. Make it personal. For example: you may need to improve your fitness to be more energetic to complete your daily tasks, relieve stress or improve your self-esteem. Attach significant values for the change. MEANINGFUL REASONS!
(8) Are you prepared to be patient with yourself if you encounter obstacles, barriers and/or setbacks?
It’s not going to a smooth ride… You will need to be patient with yourself and with your journey… Change is a slow process but worth it… If you stick with it, you will become that better person you wish for a year from now. BE PATIENT!
To sum up you need to want change badly, commit to it, learn from past mistakes, and know the downside of not changing, make it a top priority, get support, have meaningful reasons and be patient to succeed.
Hope this helps you start the process… and keep going 👍
